Mongolian delegates attending UNGA First Committee session

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A Mongolian delegation led by Permanent Representative to the United Nations V.Enkhbold has been attending the 75th session of the First Committee of the United Nations General Assembly that began on October 6.


Permanent Representative addressed the October 9 meeting of the committee, stating the Mongolian Government’s stance on disarmament and international security. In his address, the Permanent representative called on the international community to find common ground on the elimination and non-proliferation of nuclear weapons in this difficult time of COVID-19 and seek to achieve successful outcome through the NonProliferation Treaty Review Conference. He also noted that Mongolia’s nuclear-weapon-free statues has been contributing to nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation.


The First Committee session will continue until early November and adopt resolutions on issues regarding international peace and security and nuclear disarmament.
