New occupation, new workshop at Mongolian-Korean Polytechnic College
SocietyUlaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. The requirements from TVET graduates
constantly change with the new technological developments in industries. Some
occupations evolve into new ones and completely new ones appear on demand from
the industry. With support of “Cooperative Technical and Vocational Education
and Training” /cTVET/ project, the Mongolian-Korean Polytechnic College is
introducing two new occupations in the field of ‘Car Mechatronics’ and
‘Maintenance of Light Industry Machinery’ (mechanics/automation).
The occupational standards and curricula are being developed
in collaboration with companies and the workshops are getting ready for these
new courses. For the training in mechanics the old workshops have been
renovated and gives three times larger space for learner-centered training of
TVET students with relevant tools and equipment. For working with hand-tools 30
workplaces are now available.
Commissioned by the BMZ, the cTVET project is funded by the
governments of Germany, Australia, Korea and being implemented by Deutsche
Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in close partnership with
Ministry of Labour and Social Protection.
