T. Iderjavkhlan Wins "Serbia Open 2025" Challengers Chess Tournament

Ulaanbaatar, July 21, 2025 /MONTSAME/. An open chess tournament is underway in Belgrade, the Republic of Serbia.


More than 180 players representing 139 countries are competing, including a Mongolian delegation of over 20 players led by Grandmaster G. MunkhgalInternational Master Kh. ItgeltFIDE Masters M. Anand and B. Amin-Erdene, among others.


In the Serbia Open Challengers 2025 sectionT. Iderjavkhlan, a student of Grandmaster G. Munkhgal, won first place without a single loss. The chess player of the Ikh Zargach Chess Club scored 8 points from 9 rounds and won the gold medal in the category, with a total of 154 competitors. At age 14, he gained more than 190 rating points and lifted Mongolia’s first international chess trophy of 2025.


Ten Mongolian players competed in this section, whose final standings were: Candidate Master Z. Naransolongo (14th), M. Sanchir (17th), B. Batbileg (44th), B. Sainbuyan (49th), L. Selenge (58th), Ts. Tenuun (66th), A. Otgonjargal (67th), Z. Naranzaya (75th), and G. Munkhtulga (96th).
