Experiences shared with mayors of world cities

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In aims of combating COVID-19 pandemic together, intensifying solidarity and cooperation and mutually sharing experiences between the cities, the Seoul Metropolitan Government is hosting “Cities Against COVID-19” global virtual summit on June 1-5.
Mayors and officials of over 40 cities are attending the online summit and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar City S.Amarsaikhan is among them. The Summit includes 15 sessions where global experts in healthcare, education, IT, and the environment are sharing in-depth information on responses and solutions to COVID-19.
In his remarks, Mayor of Ulaanbaatar city S.Amarsaikhan noted that since Mongolia is one of risky countries where the coronavirus infection could highly spread, the State Emergency Commission made a decision to declare heightened state of readiness starting from February this year, intensifying precautionary measures against the pandemic. The Governor’s Office of the Capital City has ensured preparedness for prevention and fight against the virus and issued resolutions and rules on further actions. And it is required citizens to strictly follow them. He also said he is confident that countries could overcome this challenge through solidarity and collaboration.
Mayors and officials from cities including Moscow, Jakarta, Istanbul, Budapest, Tehran, Tel Aviv, Buenos Ares, Vancouver, Chongqing and Delhi shared their responses at the summit as well. Mayors of the cities also agreed on building an intercity network to better fight against infectious diseases like the new coronavirus that has infected more than 6 million globally.
