National Smart Transport System Development Program approved

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At its regular meeting on May 13,
the Cabinet renewed the Sports Support Fund Management Regulation and changed
its title to Sports Support Fund Management and Control Regulation to
strengthen control of the expenditures of sports support funds. The Sports
Support Fund financed 68 projects selected from 180 applications between 2017 and
2019. The funds were also spent on hiring foreign coaches for the national
teams of freestyle wrestling, judo, archery, and taekwondo to support the
teams’ training
The Cabinet also approved the National Smart Transport System Development Program. The introduction of a smart transport system is expected to reduce transport and logistics expenses, improve transport efficiency and safety, and enhance urban transport services. The program will also support the organizations introducing a smart transport system to rural areas, create jobs, and advance transport and information technology sectors. The program will be funded from the state and local budgets annually as part of the country’s economic and social development goals, loans and grants from international organizations, and investments from the private sector.
