Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Ulaanbaatar Land Administration Department is freeing up lands that have illegal constructions on them in accordance with the order No. A/513 of the Governor of the capital city and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar to build playgrounds, two-story parking lots, pedestrian paths, and gardens with the purpose of ensuring a healthy and safe living and working environment for citizens, improving land use, and increasing the availability of pedestrian walkways

On April 22, 15 brick garages built with no official permission on the west side of the 24th secondary school in the 2nd subdistrict of Chingeltei district were demolished. In the land cleared with the demolition of garages, a model family health center will be built to serve the residents of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd subdistricts of Chingeltei. This year, illegal structures in over 30 locations in Chingeltei will be demolished.

Head of Land Use and Registration Division of the Ulaanbaatar Land Administration Department D.Bat-Ulzii said, “We have numerous goals set for the year of 2020 such as handling of illegal land occupations and increased availability of sites for budget-funded construction works. A total of 420 illegal structures in 150 locations are planned to be demolished this year”.

According to the official, owners of the illegal structures have been warned multiple times from the very beginning when they started their construction, but some of them have sold their land even after receiving a notice. “However, we met and talked with the illegal occupants and construction of the family health center begins on April 23”

Deputy Governor of the 2nd subdistrict of Chingeltei O.Buyantogtokh said the new family health center will bring public healthcare services closer to the subdistrict’s 3,606 residents, who receive primary health care from the 1st subdistrict’s family health center.

In 2019, the Ulaanbaatar Land Administration Department, pursuant to an order the capital city governor, demolished 311 structures in 240 locations.
