Health Minister receives UN Resident Coordinator

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On April 17, Minister of Health D.Sarangerel received United Nations Resident Coordinator Tapan Mishra. World Health Organization Representative in Mongolia Dr. Sergey Diorditsa and Head of the Foreign Cooperation Department of the Ministry B.Yanjmaa participated in the meeting.
At the start of the meeting, UN Resident Coordinator Tapan Mishra noted the quick organization of measures against the coronavirus pandemic, and the effectiveness of the decisive measures that are being implemented, and commended the measures being taken by the Government of Mongolia against the infection.
The Health Minister expressed her gratitude to UN Resident Coordinator Tapan Mishra and WHO Representative in Mongolia Dr. Sergey Diorditsa for the consistent support and cooperation with Mongolia during this time of the pandemic. She then informed them about the plans to use the 4th Maternity Hospital currently being built in Khan-Uul district for the preparedness of the coronavirus pandemic, and highlighted that the furnishing of the hospital as a pressing issue in relation with being put into operation, requesting support from the UN.
The sides continued to further discuss the matter during the meeting, and Resident Coordinator Mr. Tapan Mishra expressed that he will put effort in solving the issue.
