Transport Minister checks construction of Baidrag Bridge-Altai road

Minister of Road and Transport Development B.Enkh-Amgalan checked the ongoing construction
of 126.7 km road between Baidrag Bridge in Bayankhongor aimag and Altai,
capital of Gobi-Altai amag.
Emphasizing that the locals have been looking forward to
the new road for years, the Transport Minister ordered the contractor to commission
the road by the scheduled date. He also applauded the good performance of the
construction company’s authorities and workers.
The project implementing companies, Max Road LLC and Avarga
Zam LLC commissioned the first 30 km road in late 2019
The road will not only completely connect Gobi-Altai,
Khovd, and Bayan-Ulgii aimags with Ulaanbaatar, but also open up an opportunity
to expand industrial activities and create jobs in remote aimags, thus reducing migration
from rural areas to the capital city.
