Telecommunications industry takes specific measures in response to COVID-19

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Today, Head of the Communications
and Information Technology Authority B.Chinbat informed of the measures being
taken by the organization and mobile phone operators in response to the
COVID-19 pandemic.
He said that the mobile phone operators sent 184.4 million warning
messages worth MNT 3.7 billion of the State Emergency Commission and the
Ministry of Health free of charge and discounted their international call rate
to MNT 70.
It was also informed that TV lessons for students have been
made available on the IPTV platforms free of charge, citizens are enjoying movie
packages at discount price and that a special package was released amid the
heightened state of readiness.
Mr.Chinbat also said that a new portal will be
created to allow students to receive free online lessons and a mobile
application will be introduced to provide information on situations of COVID-19 pandemic and precautionary
measures.
