Education Minister receives Chinese Ambassador

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports Yo.Baatarbileg received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Mongolia Chai Wenrui on March 30.

 

Minister Yo.Baatarbileg highlighted that the results of the many years of partnership with the PRC have been highly acknowledged by the Government of Mongolia, and expressed confidence in further strengthening of partnership. Alongside congratulating the Government of the PRC in their successful combat with the COVID-19 pandemic as they reduced its spread, he expressed gratitude for providing support in bringing the Mongolian students from the city of Wuhan back to Mongolia. 


The Ambassador noted that the support from the Government of Mongolia, and especially the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science, and Sports served as great encouragement in fighting against the pandemic.

 

Mentioning the successful implementation of the Mongolia-China student exchange scholarship program established as a result of the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Mongolia, the sides discussed opportunities to extend the duration of the memorandum by five years.

 

Moreover, Minister Yo.Baatarbileg requested the Ambassador to pay more attention to the realization of certain matters discussed during the working visit in the PRC in December 2019, such as suggestions for partnership in the sectors of culture and science.
