Legal actions to be held on price gouging

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. The Authority for Fair Competition and Consumer Protection (AFCCP) reported yesterday that it would submit to relevant authority its proposal on taking legal actions and revoking their licenses on individuals and entities in case of price gouging.
After the detection of an imported Covid-19 case in
Mongolia, rumors about closure of all shops, trade centers, and markets were
spread, causing some citizens to be hurried to stock up their foods. Through a hotline 18001284 of
‘Consumers’ Information 1284 Center’, the AFCCP is now receiving information
regarding cases of some trade centers and shops that hiked the price of
products, taking the situation as an advantage.
Moreover, a working group of the AFCCP started checking
distributions and reserve of products at trade centers, markets and shops.
