Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Today, March 10, State Secretary of
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs D.Davaasuren met with Ambassador Extraordinary
and Plenipotentiary of the French
Republic to Mongolia Philippe Merlin to inform that a French national with a
duty station in Mongolia tested positive for COVID-19 after showing potential
symptoms.
State Secretary D.Davaasuren, as a member of the State Emergency Commission, fully briefed the Ambassador on the measures being taken by the Commission and made a request to cooperate and focus on taking measures to prevent spread of infections in Mongolia as well as the countries the patient had traveled to and transited through and following the advice of relevant organizations.
Dismayed to see false information about an unassociated
individual on social media following the news about the first confirmed case in
Mongolia, Ambassador Philippe Merlin voiced his concerns about the individual’s
safety and requested the Mongolian side to take the appropriate measures.
