Heart attack unit opens at First Central Hospital

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On March 05, Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia and Head of the State Emergency Commission U.Enkhtuvshin took part in the launch of a heart attack unit at the First Central Hospital of Mongolia. 


After thanking on behalf of the State Emergency Commission for all medical officers and employees at the hospital for working to provide round-the-clock cardiac care to heart attack patients, Mr. U.Enkhtuvshin announced the donation of two breathing machines worth MNT 120 million each to the new unit. The machines were bought by voluntary donation money by business entities and individuals to the Commission. 


The 9-bed heart attack unit at the hospital’s cardiac disease research department will enable an operation for patients with coronary artery disease, which was only performed at the Third Central Hospital in Ulaanbaatar. 


Also, Mr. Enkhtuvshin handed over 20 fully-equipped hospital beds donated by two locals from Darkhan-Uul aimag to the Ministry of Health.
