Bicycle paths to be built in eight more locations

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Heads of departments and agencies affiliated at the Governor’s office of the capital city convened yesterday to discuss construction of bicycle paths to be built in Ulaanbaatar city in 2020. The capital city has a bike path with length of 84.7 km so far and the city authorities project to build 52.8 km bike path in eight more locations.
For the locations, the bicycle paths will be built in route:
• Tavan Shar- Sapporo station
• Sapporo-Bayanburd junction
• Sambuu Street along Geser Monastery
• The Mongolian State University of Education-East
four-way intersection
• East four-way intersection - Officers’ Palace
• Along the rear dam of Tuul River
• Along the Nalaikh road
• Along the rear track of Bogd Khan Mountain
“As of current, development and master plans on construction of bike paths in the eight locations have been adopted. The sales booths sitting on the aforementioned locations will be moved off within the legal framework in order to free up lands to build the bike paths. The bicycle paths will be built under the standards, having lights and rest areas in distance of every 1.5 kilometer,” said Ch.Regzmaa, Head of Urban Planning and Research Institute.
Governor of the Capital City S.Amarsaikhan assigned the corresponding officials to commence construction of the bike paths by April 1 and complete it in June.
