Medical specialists participate in Prince Mahidol Award Conference

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The ‘Prince Mahidol Award Conference-2020’ took place under the theme, ‘Accelerating Progress Towards Universal Health Coverage’, in Bangkok, Thailand between January 28 and February 1.
A group of specialists led by Head of Policy Planning Department of the Ministry of Health R.Oyunkhand participated in a discussion on classification and coding of diagnostic cost groups organized in the framework of the conference. 1,156 representatives of 75 countries, and international organizations such as UN specialized agencies, the World Health Organization, the World Bank, and the Asian Development Bank took part in the conference.
Together with health policymakers, economists, and IT specialists of various countries, the Mongolian specialists discussed ways to enhance the standard of healthcare data, and information and technology, to introduce 11th Revision of the International Classification of Diseases, to further develop diagnostic cost groups, as well as other pressing issues.
The representatives did two presentations on diagnostic cost groups in Mongolia, and introducing the standard of healthcare data and IT in the framework of the E-Health project. They also held a meeting with WHO Advisor D.Bayarsaikhan to discuss the sector development and future measures.
