Deputy PM meets UN Resident Coordinator in Mongolia

Prime Minister U.Enkhtuvshin met with UN Resident Coordinator in Mongolia Tapan
Mishra on December 23, exchanging views on bilateral relations and cooperation.
Noting the UN’s continued
support for Mongolia’s development policy, Mr.Enkhtuvshin said that Mongolia effectively
implements SDGs adopted by the United Nations and reported its Voluntary
National Review in 2019, which was then evaluated as ‘Mongolia has a sound
foundation for ensuring future sustainable development.’
Mr. Tapan
Mishra said Mongolia is a country with adequate potential of development. “The
United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) 2017-2021 for Mongolia
is under implementation. Now it is working to develop a new development
document targeting the inclusive development and growth, promotion of
sustainable natural resources management, improvement of social protection,
increased quality and equal social services and public involvement and strengthening
accountability.
The sides unanimously
emphasized an importance of further formulation and implementation of developed
documents that are interrelated, unified, successive and sustainable.
At the meeting, the sides
also exchanged views on bilateral collaboration in ensuring preparedness,
prevention and reduction of disaster risk such as flood, forest and steppe fire,
dzud, drought, animal contagious disease and earthquake.
