SDG Advocates in Mongolia recognized

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Last Friday, December 20, United Nations Mongolia invited social activists, scholars, teachers, artists, civil society representatives who are regarded as ‘United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Advocates’ at the UN Mongolia Office in Ulaanbaatar.

Mongolian Ballet Program artists who are using climate change concepts in their work were praised for their efforts to promote and implement the UN SDGs in Mongolia. The UN Mongolia in cooperation with the SDG Advocates organized a three-month public campaign towards implementing the SDGs starting October 1, 2019, which involved a series of lectures about the SDGs for Mongolian youth.


While handing over certificates of gratitude to the advocates, United Nations Resident Coordinator, Mr. Tapan Mishra noted that the SDGs adopted by all UN Member States and its first Goal calls for eradicating poverty, which thousands of people in Mongolia are experiencing. He further commended the supporters of the SDGs for their actions for creating equal opportunities and ensuring access to education and health care services for all people in Mongolia.
