Medical equipment presented to health institutions of three aimags

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. In aims of increasing public health coverage, and strengthening the structure of health institutions in the Gobi region in the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals 2030, the Ministry of Health is working in partnership with the World Health Organization. In the framework of his working visit in Mongolia in June 2019, WHO Regional Director for the Western Pacific Takeshi Kasai expressed that the organization will give support to the health institutions of the Gobi region during his working visit in Dundgobi aimag.


After the working visit, a workforce led by WHO Country Representative for Mongolia Sergey Diorditsa worked at the Health Centers, hospitals, and family health centers of Dundgobi, Dornogobi, and Gobisumber aimags, and became acquainted with the availability and necessity of health care assistance and services, coming to the decision to provide medical equipment that are of high necessity in a short period of time, and giving support in organizing capacity building training for medical specialists of soums and baghs. 



Thus, as according to the corresponding ministerial decree, sterilization devices for endoscopic instruments, automatic biochemical analyzers, oxygen concentrators, and infant radiant warmers were presented to hospitals of Dundgobi, Dornogobi, and Gobisumber aimags on November 29.


The work initiated by WHO Regional Director Takeshi Kasai will not only be implemented in the Gobi region, but also other aimags such as Bayankhongor, Gobi-Altai, Orkhon, Bulgan, Sukhbaatar, and Dornod.
