Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Governor of the capital city and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar S.Amarsaikhan visited ‘Magic Mongolia -2’ Child Development and Protection Center on November 26.

Since its establishment in 2012, ‘Lantuun Dohio’ NGO has been actively working for society, especially for children. With a purpose to create a safe-haven for vulnerable children through the children development and protection center, the NGO started implementing its ‘Magic Mongolia-1’ project in 2017 in the 10th khoroo of Songinokhairkhan and Bayankoshuu ger area, one of the most secluded and underdeveloped area of Ulaanbaatar city.

This year, it is implementing ‘Magic Mongolia-2’ project in Uliastai area of Bayanzurkh district. Currently, the progress of construction work is at 80 percent, but we have more works to do, said Ch.Ganjavkhlan, founder of Lantuun Dohio NGO.

“The project is purely relied on people's, communities' and companies' donations and volunteers' support, including Energy Resources LLC, Dashvaanjil Gas LLC and Deutsche Welle international organization. Moreover, Mongolians abroad sent us donations. Also an old woman from Uvs aimag sent us a five sacks of boortsog (deep fried butter cookies), which was very encouraging. Within six months, donations worth MNT1.02 billion were collected and have been used to construct two buildings with 14 facilities with help of the public within short period. Our volunteers- students and parents who received information about our project from the Facebook arrived to help us and are still working without any pay,” he added.

Magic Mongolia-2 center builds a favorable environment for children to read books, attend training and play many kinds of games.

Governor S.Amarsaikhan appraised humanity and sincerity of over 200 people who are contributing  to this project. He also expressed his commitment to support this project, which is creative work and intellectual investment for children, the future of Mongolia.

Magic Mongolia-2 center will host survivors of domestic violence and gender-based violence and disadvantaged children, as well as create a favorable environment for any children of the district to spend their leisure time properly, said the project coordinators.
