Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Embassy of Turkey hosted a ceremonial reception for the 96th anniversary of proclamation of the Republic of Turkey on October 29 in Ulaanbaatar city.  Members of Parliament, ambassadors to Mongolia and Turkish citizens living in Mongolia took part in the reception.

Mustafa Kemal Ataturk founded the Republic of Turkey in 1923 on the foundation of the Ottoman Empire, which had been fallen apart following the World War I, Ambassador of Turkey to Mongolia Ahmet Yazal stated at the opening of the reception. He added that it became vital for countries to show their mutual respect and friendship due to the events happening worldwide today. We will be persevering for modern, democratic, secular and developing republic country, which contributes in world peace.

The Ambassador also noted that this year is marking the 50th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties between Mongolia and Turkey. Among the works carried out within the anniversary, he underlined  Turkish Airlines Company's direct flight in route Ulaanbaatar-Istanbul three times a week starting from January next year. "It is a tangible step to develop bilateral economic ties. Having the direct flight, Mongolians will be able to travel to over 120 countries passing through Istanbul. Moreover, it is expected to bring great influence to bilateral trade turnover. There is a calculation that Turkish Airlines company will give an annual income of USD 100 million to Mongolia when it conducts daily direct flight between Ulaanbaatar and Istanbul. Though the air carrier will conduct flight three times a week in the first shift, we have an expectation that Mongolian side would touch an issue of increasing the flight frequency as considering the above mentioned opportunity. In addition, I wish that a Mongolian airline to start operating flight to the Republic of Turkey."

Foreign Affairs Minister of Mongolia D.Tsogtbaatar remarked that relationship between Mongolia and Turkey is beyond 50 years, having rich history of many centuries. “Bilateral relations and cooperation have been intensified in the last 20 years, reaching Comprehensive Partnership level. Mongolia aims to expand cooperation with the Republic of Turkey in all spheres such as politics, economy and education. Over 2000 Mongolian youths who acquired education in Turkey have been successfully working in all sectors for the prosperity of the country and becoming a bridge in the relations between the two countries.”
