PM visits Erdenet Science and Technology Park

Orkhon /MONTSAME/ Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh is working in Orkhon aimag, where he got acquainted with operation of Erdenet Science and Technology Park, state owned enterprise.
In aims of developing scientific and technological studies and innovative manufacturing in rural area, the park was established in 2016 at the initiatives of Governor of Orkhon aimag D.Batlut. A total of MNT 780 million has been invested to the park from the local budget.
Director of Erdenet Science and Technology Park G.Enkhbayar said that the park is now successfully carrying out several projects such as welding electrode factory, Human Ecology Center and four-season greenhouse. Out of them, welding electrode factory has a capacity to produce 100 tons of electrode a year and made a sale of around MNT 800 million in 2018 and 2019. It gained a profit of MNT 140 million in 2018. With its profit, investments were made to bio fuel and automobile engine coolant producing factory and glove factory.
Governor of Orkhon aimag D.Batlut noted that the park is also conducting several factories’ researches. As a result of the study, some 50 new plants are considered possible to be founded based on Erdenet city’s infrastructure and economic potential. Out of them, six complex of factory are projected to be developed firstly. Local administration has given 10 thousand sq.m land to build the plants to Erdenet Science and Technology Park.
Scholars of the park requested the PM to render assistance on required financing for this industrial complex.
