‘Russian Knights’ perform in Ulaanbaatar celebrating Khalkhiin Gol Battle anniversary

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On August 28, an aerial show by the aerobatic demonstration team of the 234th Guards Aviation Regiment of the Russian Air Force was held at the Khui Doloon Khudag in Ulaanbaatar. The performance was part of many events planned for the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Khalkhiin Gol Battle, which took place from May 11 to September 16, 1939.


President of Mongolia and Commander-in-Chief of the Mongolian Armed Forces Kh.Battulga watched the aerobatic performance, during which First Deputy Chief of the General Staff of Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Major General A.Yu.Chaikov and Chairman of the Staff of Air Military of Mongolia and Brigadier-General B.Batbayar met with the President to give detailed information about the performance of flying heavy fighter jets. 


The team performed with four Sukhoi Su-30 aircrafts, which is a twin-engine and two-seat super-maneuverable fighter aircraft. According to Brigadier-General B.Batbayar, the Russian Knights team performed some complicated maneuvers and low passes, including their famous stunts the bell, synchronized barrel rolls and rotation of 360 degrees.
