Kyrgyz MPs pay courtesy call on President Kh. Battulga

On June 12, Members of Supreme Council (Parliament) of Kyrgyzstan led by
Speaker D.A.Jumabekov and Head of Kyrgyzstan-Mongolia Friendship Group in the Parliament
of Kyrgyzstan K.S.Nurmatov paid a courtesy call on President of Mongolia
Kh.Battulga, who is on official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic.
Mr. Jumabekov
emphasized that opening of Mongolia’s Embassy amid the Presidential visit will have
great significance in relations between the two countries. Mentioning that democracy,
human rights and freedom are common shared values of countries with parliamentary
system, he appreciated Mongolia’s parliament and democracy.
Since
inter-parliamentary cooperation plays a pivotal role in forwarding bilateral
ties, President Kh.Battulga asked to pay attention on issues such as organizing
reciprocal visits and sharing experiences.
They said that it is
an insufficient amount that bilateral trade turnover is not reaching USD 1
million, exchanging views on possibilities to augment trade turnover.
Aside from economic
ties, the parties talked over numerous issues including hosting the Fifth World
Nomad Games in Mongolia, registering and studying cultural heritage items being
preserved in National Museum and archives of Kyrgyzstan as well as making joint
training of some types of sports.
At the end of the
meeting, President Kh.Battulga expressed his gratitude on successfully
organizing the SCO Summit taking place in Kyrgyzstan and wished success.
