Indian Embassy celebrates 69th anniversary of Indian Council for Cultural Relations
SocietyUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Embassy of India in Mongolia on
April 9 marked the 69th anniversary of the foundation of the Indian Council for
Cultural Relations (ICCR) at the Blue Sky Hotel.
In his opening remarks at the event, Ambassador
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Mongolia Mohinder
Pratap Singh said “The ICCR endeavours to carry out innovative activities to restore
our cultural traditions and strengthen bilateral relations
through cultural relations. It is not only about supporting cultural relations,
granting scholarships, and staging exhibitions, but mainly about strengthening the
friendly ties and building faithful friendship and long-term partnership with
Mongolia” The Ambassador also mentioned the major projects implemented by the
council in Mongolia over the past three years.
It is worth noting that over 4000 Mongolians have studied under
scholarships in India thanks to the ICCR and the Indian Technical and Economic
Cooperation Programme.
