Project on municipal solid waste management to be implemented

Gobi-Altai /MONTSAME/. With the support of Asian Development Bank and the funding of Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction, a project on municipal solid waste management will be implemented in Gobi-Altai in 2019-2021.
In the frameworks of the project implementation in Altai city, the old landfill will be emptied and a new centralised dump will be built in addition to that dump trucks and waste recycling equipment will be provided. As for the citizens, a seminar on land rehabilitation and waste sorting will be organized.
The project consultant team held a meeting with the governing body of Gobi-Altai aimag to discuss further works and partnership, and organized a workshop on conducting a study on waste composition in the city for the officials of the Governor’s Office of the Aimag, Environment and Tourism Department and the aimag’s professional inspection department. The project will be also implemented in Darkhan-Uul, Uvurkhangai and Sukhbaatar aimags.
