continued support for developing good governance, human rights and civil

cooperation will successfully develop even further. In addition, he asked about
the review of the Parliament’s working group responsible for examining the
implementation of the Oyu Tolgoi Investment Agreement and requested
Mr.Zandanshatar as a Head of the Parliament to pay attention on augmenting the investment, protecting investors’ interest under the law, facilitating the barriers
and building understanding.
In turn, Mr. Zandanshatar said that the working group submitted
its review to the parliament, but it has not yet been discussed at the

investment, protect interest of investors and develop mutually beneficial
cooperation.

laws passed during the parliament’s regular and irregular sessions and the

“Mongolia’s Parliament is working resolutely to protect human
rights and freedom given by the Constitution of Mongolia and develop
corruption-free society. In democratic society, legislative, executive and
judicial organizations focus their functions on ensuring human rights and
freedom. We have made first steps for the system reform. Despite of being
encountered with much resistance, we are working to protect fundamental
rights and interest of Mongolia and Mongolians, ensure every person to be equal before the
law and hold legal
accountability on anyone who violates the law,” said Mr. Zandanshatar,
expressing interest to study good experiences of Canada.
For his part, Mr. David Sproule highly appraised the efforts of
Mongolian government on combating corruption, strengthening justice and
ensuring transparency. He also underlined importance of the capacity-building
of public service, ensuring its stability, working closely with experts and maintaining
coherence and independence of powers to conduct system reforms successfully.
