At its regular meeting on February 21, the Local Council of Tuv aimag approved the
sub-program, ‘Classical Art III’, in which some 129 suggestions of 87 local
organizations are included. The Mongol Tuurgatan Theater, public library,
museum, cultural centers, secondary schools, and preschools of the aimag took
part in creation of the sub-program.
The
sub-program is aimed at increasing the positive socio-economic impact of classical
arts, promoting fruitful cross-sector partnerships, and ensuring sustainable
development of classical arts.
A study
confirmed that people nowadays have become keener on classical arts. In
particular, parents began involving their children in ballet, violin, piano,
cello, and singing classes and adults have become more interested in operas,
dance dramas and classical music concerts. Thus, the local authorities took a
view that the sub-program should be carried out throughout the whole aimag.
Under the sub-program, the local authorities will carry out a number of activities such as advancing aesthetic knowledge of young people through arts and culture, enhancing repertory of the professional arts organizations by organizing a variety of contests, increasing the number of people interested in classical arts, improving art education system and making classical arts more accessible to locals.
