Mongolia’s commission for UNESCO reviews its 2018 actions

Mongolian National Commission for UNESCO held its meeting to review its 2018 actions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on January 18, with the presence of members
of the commission and representatives of related ministries and agencies.
In his speech,
D.Tsogtbaatar, Minister of Foreign Affairs and chairman of the Mongolian
National Commission for UNESCO, noted that the national commission made certain
achievements in 2018 in implementing the Government’s Action Plan, Sustainable
Development Goals, especially ‘Education 2030’ program, and a memorandum
established between the Government of Mongolia and UNESCO for 2016-2021
cooperation. He also gave some instructions to issues that must be focused
further.
The Minister also highlighted
some achievements including the commission's expansion its cooperation with internal
and external organizations, active participation in events organized by the UNESCO,
and having hosted international meetings.
At the meeting, a plan of action for 2019 was discussed and approved.
The Mongolian National Commission
for UNESCO, established in 1963, is an organization that plays an important
role to strengthen relations and cooperation between Mongolia and UNESCO and
improve effectiveness.
