Chief of Staff of the President’s Office receives representatives of Ural Federal University

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Chief of Staff of the President’s Office Z.Enkhbold received representatives of the Ural Federal University (UrFU) as well as the university’s Mongolian graduates.

First Vice-Rector of the UrFU S.V.Kortov, Head of the School of Humanities at URFU A.S.Palkin and Executive Director of UrFU Alumni Association A.V.Ponomaryov discussed about topics, such as partnership between the two countries’ educational sectors and student exchange programmes with the Chief of Staff of the President’s Office.

For instance, the representatives of the university thinks that despite the increase of number in Mongolian students getting government scholarships, the students’ linguistic proficiency has dropped.

Thus, they introduced that they are planning on implementing a joint project by UrFU, Baikal State University of Economics and Law as well as another Russian university in partnership with National University of Mongolia, Mongolian National University of Education and Mongolian University of Science and Technology, to enhance Russian language courses to improve the proficiency of students who are planning to study in Russia.

The representatives then expressed their request to officially start the project by having the university representatives signing the agreement during the time of the meeting between the two presidents.

At the end of the meeting, they discussed joint projects and programmes that are currently being implemented. For instance, the expedition team of the university is currently doing research on meteorite fragments found from Mongolia.
