'Mongol bankhar' coin issued

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On the occasion of the Year of Dog, the Bank of Mongolia has issued a silver coin named “Mongol Bankhar”.
In accordance with the relevant provision of the Law on State Treasury, new coins are issued to commemorate domestic and high-significance international anniversaries and special occasions.
With an aim to enrich coin collection of the State Treasury, the gold, silver and bronze coins have been released in which the 12-year animals, endangered species of Mongolia, famous Mongolian Olympic athletes, political and public figures were featured, since 1972.
Last year, “Mazaalai” coin was issued in order to promote Gobi desert bear Mazaalai, which is one of the Mongolia's endangered species.
