Emergency service ward of NCC had tomography apparatus

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On December 27, the National Cancer Center of Mongolia launched an Emergency service ward, installing tomography apparatus.  The center serves 10 thousand people a year and 80 percent of newly registered cancers is diagnosed belatedly.

The tomography apparatus plays significant roles to detect about 75 percent of cancers and to conduct proper  diagnosis and treatment, specialists said.

The apparatus has capacity to take 80 slices in one turning and develop three-dimensional image, and angiography, to automatically show bones and to measure volume of organs.

As of today, the NCC is rendering emergency service to 30-40 persons in a week.
