Korea Institute for Development Strategy (KDS), under the supervision by Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT), in a consortium with KOSPO and Korean Foundation for Quality (KFQ) is managing a project, “Eco Friendly Town Development Project in Mongolia” in Nalaikh.
It aims to improve the surrounding environment of abandoned mines through soil stabilization, and meet people’s growing demand for energy and produce “clean energy” through an installation of a hybrid-energy station. 400 KW solar power generator installation is planned to be complete by December of next year.

KOSPO generates electricity using various sources, and currently supplies 9.9 per cent of South Korea’s total demand. It also provides power plant development, EPC management, operation and maintenance, commissioning, performance monitoring, remote monitoring, and diagnosis services. KOSPO’s research is focused on the use of coal ashes in mining reclamation.

During the meeting, Chairman S.Amarsaikhan expressed his gratitude for making investment to  small-sized electricity generator project and promised to support the project through policy. He also asked for special attention to the station's  stable operation and maintenance.
