Women’s Diplomatic Club hosts cashmere fashion show

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On March 16, Women’s Diplomatic Club at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia in collaboration with the Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association organized an event to present and promote Mongolian wool and cashmere products to the foreign diplomatic missions in Ulaanbaatar.

Within the framework, delegates of the foreign diplomatic missions visited the factory of Evseg ltd cashmere company, which was followed by "Elegant Cashmere” fashion show to showcase the new collections for Spring 2017. The wives and daughters of foreign diplomats working in Mongolia participated in the fashion show as models.

The event was opened by a speech of the President of Wool and Cashmere Association, MP J.Bat-Erdene and was attended by officials, such as Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry P.Sergelen, Prime Minister’s foreign policy advisor N.Chimguundari and representatives of foreign diplomatic missions in Ulaanbaatar. 

The fashion show took place in the scope of the government's program, which is soon to be approved with an aim to increase the exports of cashmere and wool products by 1.5-2 times and it is deemed that the event is of significance for the full implementation of the program.

The Head of the Women’s Diplomatic Club S.Onon gave a speech during the event, noting the success of the event and shared her interest in strengthening the cooperation between the foreign diplomatic missions and the Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association.

The Women’s Diplomatic Club was founded in 1998 as a non-governmental organization. The NGO held the event in accordance to the 20th anniversary of the club, which is to be marked in March 2018.
