Permanent Rep to UN meets LDS delegation

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations S.Sukhbold Wednesday received representatives of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS) led by Mr Ryan John Koch, Director, New York Office.

Since 1985, LDS Charities has provided aid to around 160 countries of the world in the fields of emergency response, food supply, clean water and sanitation, and health  support initiatives including  immunization. LDS Charities has been active in Mongolia since 1992, one of its publicly known projects is a donation of 250 wheelchairs to the disabled in 2011.

Ryan John Koch expressed LDS Charities’ interest to cooperate and provide assistance in needy areas in Mongolia.

Mr Sukhbold appreciated LDS Charities activities and spoke about nowadays social and economic conditions of Mongolia, and mentioned about a possible risk for dzud (heavy snow ) in countryside due to this year’s harsh winter.
