S.Battsetseg becomes twice World Champion in wrestling

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A State Honored Sportswoman and Olympic bronze medalist S.Battstetseg won a gold medal in the women’s -63 kg contest of the 2015 World Wrestling Championships running in Las Vegas, USA.

She has become a twice World Champion in freestyle wrestling, and very first Mongolian woman to grab two gold medals and one silver medal in the Wrestling World Championships.

Until semi-final bouts, Battsetseg defeated all her opponents of Hungary, Turkey, Latvia and Bulgaria. In the final, she beat Risako Kawai of Japan, w twice World Youth Champion. Bronze medals were shared by wrestlers of Ukraine and Bulgaria.

Thanks to grabbing the medal, our wrestler has been qualified to take part in the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics. Another Mongolian three-time bronze medalist of World Championships O.Nasanburmaa also has been qualified for the Olympics after taking fifth place in the women’s -69 kg contest.
