Ulaanbaatar-2017 tourism exhibition to open at central square
The Ministry of Environment and Tourism, Ulaanbaatar Tourism Association and Tourism Department of Ulaanbaatar are going to co-organize the third national tourism exhibition "Ulaanbaatar 2017" on June 3-4 at the central square of Ulaanbaatar city. Under the theme of ‘All trips are happy’, the exhibition aims to provide information about the most beautiful tourist attractions and destinations in Mongolia and in the world, and give advices and tips on travelling properly and on how to plan travel itinerary.

Artists representing Mongolia in Venice Biennale 2017
Biennale Arte 2017, the 57th International Art Exhibition is open to public from May 13 November 26, 2017 in Venice, Italy, with over one thousand artists from 86 countries are participating.  Mongolian artists, including State Prize Laureate artist Sh.Chimeddorj, artist O.Enhktaivan, who is a winner of the Union of Mongolian Artists prize and other young artists, J.Bolortuvshin, G.Munkhbolor and Ts.Davaajargal are participating and unveiling their exhibition titled "Heaven Survivors” to the public.

Mongolia inks prisoner swap deal with Macau
During his visit to the People’s Republic of China, Minister of Justice and Home Affairs S.Byambatsogt inked agreements on providing legal support and on prisoner exchange agreement between Mongolia and Macau, Chinese special administrative region. Also, Mr. S.Byambatsogt met with officials from the legislative council of Hong Kong and negotiated on signing a legal support agreement on criminal cases.

Genetic study to be conducted on camels in Dundgobi aimag
A genetic study will be conducted on camels in the Oldokhiin tal area of Dundgobi aimag by researchers of the Institute of General and Experimental Biology of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences. Camels in Oldokhiin tal are said to have distinctive qualities, but no scientific research has been done to confirm the peculiarity and exclusive benefits of them.

Mongolian wrestlers win five medals in New Delhi
2017 Senior Asian Free Style Wrestling Championship took place from May 10 to 14 in New Delhi, India.  A Mongolian team of freestyle wrestling athletes of Mongolia successfully attended the competition and won one gold, one silver and three bronze medals.

Prime Minister meets Polish and Japanese delegates in Beijing
On May 13, J.Erdenebat, Prime Minister of Mongolia met with Beata Szydlo, Prime Minister of Poland, who is attending the Belt and Road Summit in Beijing, China. After expressing her gratitude to Mongolia for supporting Poland in an election of non-permanent members of the UN Security Council. Ms. Beata Szydlo requested the Prime Minister to support bilateral cooperation by exchanging students, implementing a Polish language training program in Mongolia's higher educational institutes and universities and by collaborating in mining investment and paleontology.

Prime Minister holds first meeting with UN Chief
Prime Minister J.Erdenebat met with António Guterres, United Nations Secretary-General during his visit to China and participation in the Belt and Road Summit in Beijing.  At the meeting, Mr. António Guterres “As a person who is interested in history, I would like to remark that the ancestors of Mongolians have created the early history of and inception related to the "Belt and Road" initiative. "The United Nations will provide firm support to Mongolia, especially in the elimination of consequences of natural disasters and disaster risk reduction”.

Mongolian and Hungarian PMs discuss increasing trade turnover, forwarding joint projects
On the sidelines of his participation in the Belt and Road Summit, head of Mongolian Government J.Erdenebat is holding bilateral meetings with leaders of other countries. Today,  May 15, the Premier met with his Hungarian counterpart Victor Orban and discussed about feasibilities to enrich the bilateral cooperation with more economic contents, produce value-added products with mineral and agricultural resources, and to increase the number of Mongolian students to be granted the Hungarian government scholarships.

PM J.Erdenebat meets Philippine President and Cambodian PM during his visit to China
J.Erdenebat, Prime Minister of Mongolia met with Rodrigo Duterte, President of the Philippines to discuss on development of bilateral relations and cooperation between Mongolia and the Philippines. After mentioning his fond of reading histories of Chinggis Khaan and Kublai Khaan, President Rodrigo Duterte expressed his willingness to help Mongolia to maintain a close partnership with ASEAN.  Highlighting the possibilities of Mongolia and the Philippines to cooperate in the agricultural sector, Prime Minister J.Erdenebat noted that it is important to establish bilateral ties to connect Mongolian and Philippine small and medium sized enterprises.

Oyu Tolgoi signs power agreement with National Power Transmission Grid of Mongolia
On May 12, Oyu Tolgoi LLC announced the signing of a new power purchase agreement (PPA) with the National Power Transmission Grid (NPTG) of Mongolia.   Armando Torres, Chief Executive Officer of Oyu Tolgoi, said, “This is an important milestone for Oyu Tolgoi, and underscores the strong support and collaboration between the Government of Mongolia and Oyu Tolgoi – securing our future, and our long term contribution to Mongolia.”
