Solo exhibition of painter N.Sanchir on display
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A solo exhibition of N.Sanchir, painter and member of the Union of Mongolian Artists opened at the Art Gallery of Union of Mongolian Artists on April 13. The exhibition is being organized on the occasion of the 70th birth anniversary of N.Sanchir.  N.Sanchir is a son of State Prize Laureate and People’s Painter-titled L.Namkhaitseren, who was the first director of the Mongolian State Opera and Dance Theatre.

Mongolia claims six medals from World Jiu-Jitsu Festival
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In accordance to the “Abu Dhabi World Jiu-Jitsu Festival 2017”, which is taking place in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, “Abu Dhabi World Jiu-Jitsu Festival – Adults & ParaJiu-Jitsu” championship concluded on April 14-15. With an impressive tally, contestants from Mongolia namely B.Batmunkh, A.Gantulkhuur, A.Munkhbat and B.Uugankhuu claimed 3 gold and 2 silver medals from the tournament.

EU project to help Mongolia to export honey products
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A team of an EU project “Support to the Modernization of Mongolia's Standardization System” has worked in Selenge aimag on April 12-13. The team was composed of project team leader Henk De Pauw, expert Andre Francois and other members. Their mission of the Selenge working tour was to assist with exporting honey and honey products made in Selenge aimag to the European Union.

Mortgage Corporation’s special purpose entity to release securities
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On April 13, the Financial Regulation Commission (FRC) granted a financial activity license to ‘MIC Active Twelve Months”, a special purpose entity established by the "Mongolian Mortgage Corporation“ company last August and registered its securities.  ‘MIC active twelve months” company is releasing mortgage loan guaranteed securities of 2.7 million with nominal value of MNT100 000 and 30-year term. The Commission assigned the two companies to insure the loan package for long term and in accessible way, meeting the interest and demand of the insured.

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ President's Office in cooperation with Provincial Press Association organized a meeting under the theme ‘Citizens’ Right to Information’ on April 14, Friday, and President Ts.Elbegdorj attended the meeting. During the meeting with journalists and correspondents working in 21 provinces of Mongolia, the President touched upon his powers granted by the Constitution of Mongolia.

His career as a financial advisor and executive include leading key foreign market offices as a vice president at Citigroup from 1985 to 1997.

Art and writing contest held within Global Money Week
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In compliance with the “Global Money Week”, the Ministry of Education, Culture,, Science and Sport along with Bank of Mongolia, President's Office, Mongolian Bankers Association, Deposit Insurance Corporation of Mongolia organized arts and writing contest on money management among children on April 14. Under the theme “Learn-save-earn”, the “World Money Week” took place between March 27 and April 2.

Seven types of tax rates to be raised following budget amendments
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Amendments to the 2017 State Budget, which were approved by the Parliament yesterday, April 13, laid out to raise seven types of taxes, as the Government agreed with the International Monetary Fund in the scope of a three-year Extended Fund Facility. Tax rate increase of four types of taxes will come into effect starting May 01. Those include individual income tax, tax on interest of bank savings, customs tax on imported cigarettes and excise tax on passenger cars.

Trilateral agreement signed to support employment
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Today, April 14, a trilateral agreement was established between the Capital Governor’s office, Confederation of Trade Unions of Ulaanbaatar and the Mongolian Employers' Federation, with an aim to increase employment of citizens of the captial city and develop small and medium enterprises. The parties agreed to collaborate in protecting legal rights and interests related to employment and develop social partnership, putting 22 tasks forward.

Mongolian and South Korean ballet dancers to perform together
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A play named “Spirit of ballet” by junior ballet dancers of Mongolia and the Republic of  Korea will be staged at the Mongolian State Opera and Dance Theatre in Ulaanbaatar. The Mongolian Development Foundation for Ballet and Mongolian Ballet Association in Ulaanbaatar are working as organizers. The performance will be organized by Tuguldur Foundation in cooperation with governmental and non-governmental organizations operating in the art of ballet, including Music and Dance College.

Mongolia-Russia archaeological team unveils new finds
Explorers discover an ancient toothbrush One of the showrooms of the Mongolian National Museum is exhibiting some brand ‘new’ pieces.  The museum hosted the opening ceremony for an exhibition called “Culture of Ancient Cities” which unveils the most extraordinary finds belonging to the Khitan state period, one of the ancient states that occupied Mongolian land.    This is a huge contribution made by a Mongolia-Russia joint research project on Nomadic Cities over the past 15 years.

Environment Minister meets Ambassador of Turkey
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ D.Oyunkhorol, Minister of Environment and Tourism received Ahmet Yazal, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Mongolia to exchange views on Mongolia-Turkey bilateral cooperation in the environmental field. At the beginning of the meeting, Turkish Ambassador thanked the Mongolia's Environment Minister for receiving him and said that he was overwhelmed by the beauty of Mongolian nature and hospitality of Mongolian people. Moreover, he expressed his willingness to upgrade bilateral relations of the two countries during his tenure in Mongolia.

Mongolian Open 2017 is going to be held at the Buyant Ukhaa Sports Complex of Ulaanbaatar between April 28 and 30.

2017 Budget amendment approved
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Yesterday, April 14, Parliament approved amendments to the law on 2017 State Budget and Law on Social Insurance Fund, proposed by the Cabinet on March 24. The amendments sets the 2017 state revenue projection at MNT6.035.7 billion or 23.3 per cent of GDP and expenditure at MNT8.750.2 billion, 33.6 per cent of GDP, with a deficit amounting to MNT2.714.4 billion, 10.4 per cent of GDP.
