Arbitration procedures and practices in Mongolia discussed
Ulaanbaatar /МОНЦАМЭ/. On October 16, Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI) hosted a meeting under the theme “Court participation in arbitration and challenges” with participation of public and private sector representatives. The event also coincided with the 90th anniversary of the establishment of domestic arbitration in Mongolia and 60th anniversary of international arbitration in Mongolia.
Mongolia, China marking 70 year anniversary of diplomatic relations
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Today marks 70th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the People’s Republic of China. Exchanging notes to establish diplomatic relations on 16 October, 1949, Mongolia become the eighth country that recognized and formally established diplomatic ties with the PRC after it was newly founded in 1949.

Public hearing on measures to combat air pollution set next month

On October 14, Parliament Speaker G.Zandanshatar held a meeting on air pollution reduction and refined coal consumption in the city, gathering some parliament members and government officials at the helm of reduction of air pollution, including Ministers of Environment and Energy and Ulaanbaatar city Mayor S.Amarsaikhan and so on.
ADB approves program to improve access to quality health services in UB, provinces
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/.The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved its first multi-tranche financing facility (MFF) in the health sector in Mongolia. The $158.34 million MFF will provide high-quality health care services in selected disadvantaged ger areas of Ulaanbaatar, provinces, and subdistricts to support the Government of Mongolia’s commitment to universal health coverage.
Mongolia welcomes 480 thousand foreign tourists this year
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. In its monthly report for September 2019, National Statistical Office of Mongolia informed that 4.7 million passengers (double counting) have crossed the border of Mongolia in the first 9 months of 2019. The number was increased by 104.4 thousand or 2.3 percent compared to the same period of previous year.

Mongolian delegation attends ESCAP Energy Committee meeting

Photo exhibition showcasing Tibetan lives and culture opens

Additional US Government assistance to advance sustainable and inclusive growth in Mongolia

On October 10, the U.S. government announced the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Ministry of Finance of Mongolia signed a MNT 17 billion ($6.4 million) expansion of the bilateral agreement to implement new activities in support of good governance; the rule of law; reliable, efficient and affordable energy; and sustainable, private sector-led growth in Mongolia.

Speaker assigns to improve measures against money laundering and terror financing

Speaker of the Mongolian Parliament G.Zandanshatar summoned a meeting with corresponding officials concerning the potential risk of Mongolia to come under Grey List of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), an intergovernmental organization to combat Money laundering and Terror financing and gave order to them.
67.7 million livestock counted nationwide to winter
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. A nationwide livestock census performed last August found that there were around 84.2 million livestock animals nationwide, including 541.5 thousand camels, 4.5 million horses, 5.4 million cattle, 39.6 million sheep and 34.5 million goats. The census concluded by gathering data from each local administrative unit showed that some 67.7 million livestock will spend the winter and 16.5 million livestock will be used for meat preparation.
Mongolian climber summits Mt Manaslu for the first time
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On the morning of September 25, Mongolian climber B.Batbold reached the summit of the Manaslu Mountain in Nepal, becoming the first Mongolian person to climb the eighth highest mountain in the world at 8,163 meters above sea level.
CO detectors to be installed in 220 thousand homes of Ger districts in UB
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On October 9, the Cabinet ordered Ulaanbaatar city Mayor S.Amarsaikhan resolved to install carbon monoxide detector in 220 thousand Ger district houses in Ulaanbaatar city before November 1. High-quality CO alarm at affordable price will be installed for free the first time. Government’s National Committee on Air Pollution Reduction will be fund the required around MNT 6 billion to purchase the detectors.
Science and technological park of livestock industry to be established
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. At its meeting held on October 9, the Cabinet resolved to establish a national scientific, industrial and technological park of livestock husbandry and to formulate technical and economic feasibility study through public private partnership. The establishment of the park is designed for supporting herders and cooperatives in the livestock industry, increasing their incomes and provide them with jobs.
