Mongolia’s first satellite-launch project introduced
Within the framework of an international BIRDS project, a joint team of the Kyushu Institute of Technology of Japan and the National University of Mongolia (NUM) is working to launch a satellite into space this year. The Joint Global Multi Nation BIRDS (JGMNB) project is a cross-border interdisciplinary spectral and infrared remote detection (BIRD) satellite project for non-space faring countries supported by Japan. Ghana, Mongolia, Nigeria, and Bangladesh are some of the seven countries participating in the project.
Memory athlete B.Shijir-Erdene wins Int”l tournament in USA
International Grand Master and Mongolian memory athlete B.Shijir-Erdene, 17, won the championship at an International Open Memory Tournament took place last weekend in San Jose, California, USA. Last year, he successfully participated in “Memoriad-2016” which is organized every four years in Las Vegas. B.Shijir-Erdene is one of the best mental athletes of Mongolian the Intellectual Academy who has set records many times.
Solo exhibition of painter N.Sanchir on display
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A solo exhibition of N.Sanchir, painter and member of the Union of Mongolian Artists opened at the Art Gallery of Union of Mongolian Artists on April 13. The exhibition is being organized on the occasion of the 70th birth anniversary of N.Sanchir. N.Sanchir is a son of State Prize Laureate and People’s Painter-titled L.Namkhaitseren, who was the first director of the Mongolian State Opera and Dance Theatre.
EU project to help Mongolia to export honey products
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A team of an EU project “Support to the Modernization of Mongolia's Standardization System” has worked in Selenge aimag on April 12-13. The team was composed of project team leader Henk De Pauw, expert Andre Francois and other members. Their mission of the Selenge working tour was to assist with exporting honey and honey products made in Selenge aimag to the European Union.
Mongolian and South Korean ballet dancers to perform together
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A play named “Spirit of ballet” by junior ballet dancers of Mongolia and the Republic of Korea will be staged at the Mongolian State Opera and Dance Theatre in Ulaanbaatar. The Mongolian Development Foundation for Ballet and Mongolian Ballet Association in Ulaanbaatar are working as organizers. The performance will be organized by Tuguldur Foundation in cooperation with governmental and non-governmental organizations operating in the art of ballet, including Music and Dance College.
Environment Minister meets Ambassador of Turkey
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ D.Oyunkhorol, Minister of Environment and Tourism received Ahmet Yazal, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Mongolia to exchange views on Mongolia-Turkey bilateral cooperation in the environmental field. At the beginning of the meeting, Turkish Ambassador thanked the Mongolia's Environment Minister for receiving him and said that he was overwhelmed by the beauty of Mongolian nature and hospitality of Mongolian people. Moreover, he expressed his willingness to upgrade bilateral relations of the two countries during his tenure in Mongolia.
Mongolia sees off senior athletes to World Masters Games in New Zealand
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A ceremony to seeing off Mongolian athletes, who will be taking part in the World Masters Games 2017 to be held in Auckland, New Zealand on April 21-30, took place today, April 13, at the Central Sports Palace of Ulaanbaatar. This is the ninth edition of the World Masters Games and about 30 athletes of Mongolia will compete in 6 categories.
Junior National Wrestling Championships to be held named after J.Munkhbat
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ 2017 National Championships of Junior Freestyle Wrestlers will take place on April 24-27 at Buyant-Ukhaa Sports Palace in Ulaanbaatar. From this year, the annual event will be named after Hero of Labor and Merit Athlete of Mongolia, Undefeatable Giant of Nation-titled Munkhbat Jigjid. He is Mexico 1968 Olympic silver medalist, World Championship bronze medalist.
Water quality monitoring program launched at Khuvsgul Lake
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Ministry of Environment and Tourism of Mongolia and the Asian Development Bank /ADB/ have launched a project "Integrated Livelihoods Improvement and Sustainable Tourism in Khuvsgul Lake National Park Project", funded by the Japanese Government.
