International Children’s Book Day to be celebrated

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/  The 212th anniversary of birth of Hans Christian Andersen, who is respected as a king of fairytales, falls on April 2. The day is annually celebrated as an International Children’s Book day worldwide as well as in Mongolia. Children’s Book Palace of Mongolia regularly celebrates this day with its young readers.

This year, the International Children's Book Day will take place on March 30 at the Children’s Book Palace and will be open for all children and for their parents.

During the event, a ceremony to hand over 300 books, including the best of the world classics and Chinese classic children’s books, to the Children’s Book Palace will be held. The books were sent from Taiwanese children. Also, children’s book writers' greetings, children’s puppet play and other arts performances will take place.

The opening ceremony of the event will be attended by N.Bold, Director of Culture and Art policy Department of Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports and Huang Kuo-Jung, Representative of the Taipei Trade and Economic Representative Office in Ulaanbaatar and other officials as well as young readers and children’s writers.
