Virtual discussion held on prevention of local transmission of COVID-19

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH), in collaboration with the Third State Central Hospital of Mongolia, held a virtual discussion on the prevention of the local transmission of COVID-19 as well as its spread in hospitals.
The discussion focused on the use of ultrasound in emergency and intensive care, and the management of medical care for patients with severe symptoms of coronavirus infection.
Representative at the Taipei Trade and Economic Representative Office in Ulaanbaatar Grace Lou said, “A total of 15 cases of COVID-19 were confirmed at Tao Yuan Hospital in Taiwan 14 days ago, including patients, hospital staff and family. After rapid surveillance and effective isolation of contacts, no new cases were detected within the hospital after 2 days. Hospital-acquired infections continue to remind us that we must not drop our guard and that effective method of treatment is the most important at a time when vaccines are scarce”. Moreover, she expressed gratitude to the doctors and the staff of the two countries working in the frontline, who are tired but continue to fight the pandemic.
More than 100 doctors and hospital workers took part in this discussion.
