Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Students of the Mongolian University of Life Sciences (MULS) are successfully carrying out a project which aims to process bio waste oil and make various kinds of products from it, to protect the nature.

Since Mongolia, which is abundant in livestock animal, has not a factory for processing fat and oil obtained from animal, it is disposed to the nature. Moreover, used vegetable oil is being disposed in large amount. Therefore, the students of the MULS launched a study on introduction of efficient technology for processing these oils.

The students have solved some problems that are faced when processing waste fat oil and vegetable oil in factory level and made various types of products such as coolant, liquid glass cleaner, biodiesel fuel and coal burner.

The students are collaborating with ‘Bio energy’ team of the School of Engineering and Technology of the MULS led by lecturer, associate professor, Dr. G.Enkhbayar and experienced scholars who have worked in this field since 2006 are in the team.

‘Bio energy’ team has been conducting a research since 2015 on manufacturing variety of products as making additional changes in technological rule based on EN14214 standard that is used in countries in the European Union.

The ongoing project ‘Making various products from bio waste oil through chemical method’ received financing of MNT 10 billion as selected from ‘Higher Education Reform Project’ being jointly run by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports and the Asian Development Bank.
