Health Minister receives People in Need Country Director

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Minister of Health D.Sarangerel held a meeting with Country Director of People in Need NGO of the Czech Republic Timothy Jenkins on December 4. At the meeting, Country Director Timothy Jenkins briefly informed about the joint project implemented in the health sector. He also introduced the project, ‘Right to Breathe’, financed by the EU, and discussed further partnership.
The Ministry of Health and the People in Need NGO of the Czech Republic signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in 2011, and jointly implemented the project, ‘Increasing the accessibility of health care services in the aimags of the western and southern regions of Mongolia’. In the framework of the project implemented from 2011 to 2013, necessary tools and equipment for mobile health services were presented to the aimag hospitals of Arkhangai, Uvurkhangai, Zavkhan, Bayankhongor, Khuvsgul, and Umnugobi aimags.
In aims of having a positive effect on the quality and accessibility of health care services for citizens in rural areas in the framework of the project, professional and methodological support was provided, and work on improving the legal framework was done. The projects are highly significant in improving the quality and accessibility of primary health care services, and giving services to citizens in rural areas promptly.
