60-km road newly built in Bayan-Ulgii as part of western region road network

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. During his working trip to the Bayan-Ulgii aimag, Minister of Road and Transport Development B.Enkh-Amgalan has examined the progress of the construction of a 60-km long road from Khashaat to Tolbo in the Bayan-Ulgii aimag. It was reported that the construction is now completed and the road opened to vehicles. The construction, executed by Chinese "China Huashi Enterprises” company, started in 2015.  


The road is a part of a vertical auto road network of the western region with a total length of 745.8 km. The network is deemed to ensure free movement of international vehicles between Russia and China, facilitating regional development. Within the framework of the project to develop vertical auto road network of the western region, a 100 km long paved road in Bayan-Ulgii aimag was already put into operation. Constructions of another 25 km road in Tsagaannuur-Ulaanbaishint, 19 km road circling the center of the aimag and 200-meter concrete bridge are underway with an investment of the Asian Development Bank.
