Defense Minister participates in Shangri-La Dialogue

The 18th Asia Security Summit brought together Defense
Ministers and high-ranking officials of Defense Ministries and Armed Forces
from 27 countries including Australia, China, Russia, Indonesia, UK, Cambodia,
Canada, Malaysia, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, France, Philippines, New
Zealand, and Japan, as well as scholars of international and national
institutes for security studies. The participants shared their views on the
issues of regional and global security, economy, investment, infrastructure
development, cyber security, and terrorism.
Defense Minister N.Enkhbold took part in a session themed ‘Security
Implications of Regional Infrastructural Development’, delivering remarks on
the regional infrastructure development and its contribution to security of the
regional countries, including Mongolia.
During the event, the Defense Minister met with his
Singaporean, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Australian, and Canadian counterparts,
Russian Deputy Defense Minister, and Acting United States Secretary of Defense
to discuss regional security and bilateral defense relations and cooperation.
He met also with the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee.
The Minister’s participation in the dialogue gave the opportunity to introduce Mongolia’s policy and position on the regional security and get new information about regional security, strategies and future trends.
