Deputy Construction Minister meets ADB delegation

/MONTSAME/ Deputy Minister of Construction and Urban Development B.Munkhbaatar
met with representatives of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on April 2.
A national
committee is working on reformulation of the ‘General development project on
settlement and residence of the population’ as necessitated by the great
changes and achievements made in Mongolia’s socio-economic system since 1996.
The Ministry of Construction and Urban Development has been attentive towards
regional development of aimags and soums in that regard, said the Deputy
Minister while extending gratitude to ADB for proposing to implement ‘Aimag and
Soum Centers Regional Development Investment Program’. He then emphasized the
importance of coordination of the project with other related projects and close
cooperation.
The ADB
representatives informed that a decision was made to transfer the second
disbursement for the projects and programs on regional development of aimags
and soums and expressed high hope for successful implementation and fruitful
outcomes of the project.
Within the project,
regional urban clusters (RUCs) that have the potential to promote more
resilient and diversified economy will be given priority and population of the
targeted RUCs will benefit from improved urban and economic facilities and
services as a result.
