Parliament receives 246 petitions in October
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Head of the Standing committee on Petitions O.Baasankhuu called press conference Monday to talk about the petitions parliament received last month.
"Among 246 petitions, including 160 requests, 16 proposals and eight complaints, sent to us this October, the most noticeable was a petition that proposes a cancellation of the resolution on establishing Khalkhgol Free-zone, signed by 1,659 people of Khalkhgol soum of Dornod aimag who consider that parliament had not thought well of their opinions and had not calculated how this free-zone could impact on the locality's community and environment," he said.
He also highlighted a request on promoting blood donors by focusing more on their social issues in order to increase the donated blood reserves.
Most of the requests concerned a difference in pensions received by pensioners who retired before and after 1995, and enhancing of the legal environment in order to give assistance to the vulnerable seniors.
