Society
Ulaanbaatar, July 2, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Chinggis Khaan International Airport was included for the first time in the 2025 list of the world’s most improved airports.
This recognition comes from
Skytrax’s 2025 “World’s Most
Improved Airports” list, where Ulaanbaatar (UBN) ranked 6th—alongside major regional hubs such as
Almaty (2nd), Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (3rd), London Gatwick (4th), and Taiwan
Taoyuan (5th).
Skytrax, a prestigious organization in the air transport sector founded in 1989 and based in London, evaluates airports across criteria like passenger service, safety, and technological innovations.
Since opening in July 2021,
Chinggis Khaan International Airport has consistently upgraded its facilities.
Beginning in 2024, the airport introduced advanced technologies—automated check‑in
systems, passenger-flow management software, and smart information
displays—which have earned favorable reviews from international evaluators. Additionally, the airport is gradually rolling out a “One ID”
system aimed at streamlining passenger access procedures and enhancing
security.
Looking ahead, the airport
aims to become a key international transit hub and plans to further improve its
services to be competitive with regional centers. This achievement of Chinggis Khaan International Airport is an indication not
only of improved infrastructure but also of bringing management, standards, and
passenger satisfaction closer to international levels, reported to the Ministry
of Roads and Transport.
