Deputy PM works in Erlian city

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Deputy Prime Minister and Member of Government in charge of free zones U.Enkhtuvshin worked in Erlian city of Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region, People’s Republic China on September 6.
In April, 2018, Prime Minister of Mongolia U.Khurelsukh paid an official visit to the People’s Republic China. During the PM’s visit, the sides signed a Memorandum of Mutual Understanding on accelerating the negotiation process to establish an intergovernmental agreement on development of neighboring regions within economic cooperation along Mongolia-China border. In connection, related preparation works on establishing the intergovernmental agreement are being accelerated.
In the scope of it, Deputy PM U.Enkhtuvshin got acquainted with the development of Erlian city free trade zone, which covers a 900 ha area in total. Erlian city free trade zone is located just a kilometer away from Zamyn-Uud free trade zone.
Authorities of Erlian city reported that a construction work of the underground infrastructure network has commenced last spring. Presently, issues regarding heating, electricity, network, pure water and sewage lines have been solved comprehensively. Moreover, it is expected to construct seven new factory buildings in near future. The authorities of Erlian city also said that the construction work worth CNY800 million or USD126 million be realized in this area in 2019.
The same day, the Deputy PM also saw activities of trade zone of frontier citizens of Erlian city. At the trade zone, Mongolian businesses have started selling their products, which were allowed by relevant Chinese organizations. It ensures Chinese citizens to make duty-free purchases up to CNY 8000 per day.
