Mongolian Philharmonic Morin Khuur Ensemble and Uzbek Academic Orchestra of Folk Instruments Perform Joint Concert

Ulaanbaatar, June 26, 2024 /MONTSAME/. As part of the State Visit of President of Mongolia, H.E. Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, to the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Mongolian Philharmonic Morin Khuur Ensemble and the Uzbek Academic Orchestra of Folk Instruments performed a joint concert on June 25, 2024, at the Tashkent City Congress Hall in Uzbekistan.
Under the auspices of the Heads of State, the joint
concert commenced with addresses by Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia, Mr.
Amarsaikhan Sainbuyan, and Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Mr. Jamshid
Khodjaev. Deputy Prime Minister Amarsaikhan expressed his pleasure at the
Mongolian Morin Khuur Ensemble's first performance in Tashkent, noting the Ensemble's
role in sharing the melodies of Mongolia's vast steppes with their Uzbek
friends and fostering lasting memories. He emphasized that this joint
performance is vital in enhancing the bonds between the peoples of the two countries.
The concert featured 21 Mongolian and Uzbek masterpieces, performed collaboratively. Among the audience of 1,500 visitors to the concert, there were representatives from the Uzbek government, the business sector,
diplomatic missions, and the Mongolian community in Uzbekistan.
Since its establishment in 1992, the Mongolian
Philharmonic Morin Khuur Ensemble has held over 3,000 performances in Mongolia
and more than 600 performances across 21 countries, promoting Mongolian
national art internationally. In recognition of this remarkable achievement,
the Morin Khuur Ensemble was awarded the Order of Chinggis Khaan, the Supreme
Decoration of the Mongolian State, and was expanded into an orchestral ensemble
in 2024.
With the support of the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs, the Mongolian Philharmonic Morin Khuur Ensemble has been provided with
opportunities to showcase their play on prestigious stages worldwide. Notable
performances include concerts at Japan's NHK Hall, Australia's Sydney Opera
House, France's Palace of Versailles Royal Opera House and Debussy Hall of the
Nantes Conservatory, and China's Shanghai Jaguar Symphony Orchestra Hall, where
Morin Khuur Ensemble of Mongolia presented its performance "The Beautiful Mongolia."
